Description: The “blue box” version of Space Armada is much more common than the red box. Space Armada was possible because the slick as snot lawyers at Mattel discovered that Space Invaders had not been properly copyrighted by Midway. So long as the name was changed to something other than Space Invaders, the concept was, in a sense, public domain.
Easter eggs: Two “alternate” games can be played in practice mode by starting a game as follows: a) On the right controller, press and hold the lower left and lower right buttons. On the left controller, press keypad 4 and 6 then press RESET for “Spaz Armada”. b) On the right controller, press and hold the lower left and lower right buttons. On the left controller, press keypad “clear” and “enter” then press RESET for “Space Beasties”.

Santulli Slant: You didn’t think Mattel was going to sit back and let the feeble 2600 steal all of the market share of Space Invaders fans, did you? Well, this not-too-impressive “recycle” tries to be Space Invaders, but the sluggish controls (even left-right movement doesn’t work very well with the disc) hamper the game.
