Description: Originally began development at Mattel as “Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Tower of Mystery”. Tower of Doom was intended to be the third in Mattel’s Advanced Dungeons & Dragons series and was explicitly required to be far less complicated than AD&D: Treasure of Tarmin. According the Blue Sky Rangers, it was even referred to as AD&D Arcade in which the word arcade equated to “less brains to play”. Mattel closed-up shop before Daniel Bass could complete the game and development was continued two years later by John Tomlinson. Tower of Doom was finally released in 1987 by INTV Corp.
