This game plays just like the much more well known Micro Machines
series, except just not nearly as enjoyable. View is from a top down perspective and you
race along some short Monster Truck courses with a variety of obstacles to maneuver
around. You'll race against one opponent who clearly has the advantage in every way
possible which drags this game down. Graphics are very well done. There is attention to detail in almost every part of the game's visuals. The only thing this missing are animations of the tires spinning on the trucks. Otherwise, everything is very nice to look at. Control is top notch and very responsive, but your opponent can knock you all over the place and spin you around. This leaves you helpless and struggling to recover. One time is all it takes to lose the race since it can turn sharper and faster and clearly out maneuver you. I had a hard time even qualifying on one race Music is average at best. It's decent, but not catchy and the track designs resemble each other too closely. They all have the same obstacles, just laid out differently. Races only last an average of thirty seconds and require only one lap to finish making the game become repetitive too early. Overall, it is a slightly above average game with some good points but several weak ones. If you love racing games you will probably like this game. If not, you will grow bored quickly. |
